Le Wine Importer LLC was founded in Oakland, California, in 2018, by a Portuguese-French entrepreneur: Frederic M.
As a brand new actor in the Wine business, Le Wine Importer LLC. imports and distributes Portuguese Wines to local distributors, Stores, Wine shops, Restaurants and Venues located in the vibrant region of the Bay Area.
Le Wine Importer has one exciting dream: Unlock the Secrets of Portuguese Wines to the Californian market and give the Portuguese wines the fame they deserve.
What is the story behind Le Wine Importer ?
It certainly is Frederic’s grandfather, Tadeu Dos Santos, a small wine maker of the region of Tras Os Montes, who gave him the love for Portuguese wines, the love of the huge variety of grapes there, and the passion for Portugal and its people.
When Frederic arrived in the United States, his surprise equaled his disappointment when he realized how under-represented Portuguese wines were, if not totally absent from the shelves. First, he shared Portuguese bottles with his friends, surprising them with the quality of the wines… Then, he thought about sharing Portuguese wines with more people…

About Frederic
Frederic is the founder of Le Wine Importer LLC. He speaks 5 languages, holds four nationalities, his family origins in 4 different continents but his heart belongs to a tiny town where he spent his childhood: Lamas de Podence, hidden between moutains, pines and vineyards in the very North-East of Portugal.
